Dr. Procter

The official blog for the feature film in development Dr. Procter by Alison McAlpine

Background

Ever since I was a child I’ve been asking about my grandfather. He was never talked about. My mum was nine when he died but she never met him or knew much about him. Our house had just a few photographs of a very handsome man and doctor. When I asked about him I made my grandmother cry. So I stopped asking. Since my grandmother died fifteen years ago I’ve been exploring a rich and complex story and meeting doctors/recovering addicts in the U.S., Canada and the U.K.
